Anaheim, CALIFORNIA – According to reporting from the OCRegister, an unidentified motorcyclist was left in critical condition on Monday, October 22 after being struck in a hit-and-run collision that occurred near East Viking Avenue in Anaheim.
It was around 6pm when the adult male motorcyclist was allegedly hit by an SUV. The police believe the suspect was driving a Chevrolet Suburban. The investigation is ongoing so accident details have not been released.
The rider was taken to the hospital in severe condition. Police closed College Blvd from Vermont until 10pm that night while they looked for evidence. The victim of the crash was not publicly identified by law enforcement.
Unfortunately, pedestrian accidents remain far too common in Orange County and throughout the state of California. A comprehensive report released last year by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found that thousands of pedestrians are injured in crashes in the state each year.
