ORANGE COUNTY – According to reporting from the Orange County Register, a 39-year-old Los Angeles resident named Jayanth Sanampudi was the victim of a deadly crash that took place on Interstate 5 (I-5) near the Chapman Avenue exit ramp. The tragic wreck occurred late in the evening on October 12th.
Based on a preliminary investigation, California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers believe that the black BMW sedan being driven by Mr. Sanampudi spun clockwise across multiple lanes of traffic before being struck by the oncoming semi-truck.
Weather may have been a factor in the crash; it was heavily raining at the time of the collision.
The accident remains under investigation. At this time, no public information has been released regarding the status of the truck driver. Our deepest condolences go out to the loved ones of Mr. Sanampudi.
